I took this shot on March 26, 2012 at around 7:30pm. It was during the conjunction of Jupiter, Venus and the Crescent Moon. What was cool about this set-up was that I could also get the Pleiades in the same frame. This was taken with my Nikon D300. ISO-1600 f/5.6 for 5 seconds. From bottom to top: Jupiter, Venus, the Moon and the Pleiades.
The Pleiades are an open star cluster found in the constellation Taurus and make their appearance in the night sky of the northern hemisphere in late autumn. This small, bright blue star cluster is also referred to as The Seven Sisters. How did they get their name?
