Can You Identify This Constellation?
David from Chandler, Arizona sent us this picture the other day. He was wondering if our readers could identify this constellation. David says that he took this picture using his Canon EOS 7D. It was around 10pm local time on 1/1/2011. He was facing south and said that the stars were moving from east to west.

i believe it is Canis Major. The bright star is Sirius.

It is Canis Major. Sirius, the brightest star in the sky, is the bright star in it.
